It does not lay fully horizontal. However, it lays at 15 degrees off 180 (horizontal). This position is safe, and we believe preferred for newborns. You can consult your midwife or paediatrician for further advice. You can read more about the Everest by clicking here.
Every buggy is required to have a braking system. The ABC brake is made of steel and firmly grips the tyres for 100% confidence, and is the only type which permits stride comfort (won't kick the back of the buggy) - as there is no bar connecting the rear wheels or obstruction caused by the more familiar type of brake found on most mass-produced (plastic) products.
The ABC buggy simply has more features than other buggies and ABC just goes that bit further with detail, for example...
1) Lid on parcel tray for security;
2) window in rear of sling so that you can constantly view your baby whilst walking;
3) Extendible handle incorporated into the buggy;
4) Firm-backed sling with foam padding for comfort;
5) Pocket at rear of sling for keys, purse, cell-phone etc.;
6) Strong weight capacity - 45kg's (can accomodate 2 x toddler seats - top or front or both together);
7) Sun canopy provides better sun protection;
8) Bumper bar for additional safety of infant - also they like holding onto the bar when older.

Yes, the limit is 18 kilograms.
We provide a 4-wheel conversion kit. This includes a spreader bar and 4th wheel. This provides complete stability, especially if you are wanting to traverse over uneven ground. You still need common sense on where you will safely take your two children, but generally the 4 wheels provide ample stability.
The top fitting toddler seat was developed to permit use of a toddler seat without the 4-wheel conversion kit. Prior to this development we sold the kit and seat as a combined kit.
We do have seats that will fit in the front, lower down on the pram - and that will fit earlier buggies. However, we won't sell these without the 4-wheel conversion kit (as safety is a real issue with these), which makes it more expensive as a package to buy. We haven't had any safety concerns with the top-mounted seats, and we believe that the latest design top fitting toddler seat is more than ever a safe and sensible option (even without the 4-wheel kit) on level ground.
